Balicasag has been a protected marine sanctuary since 1985, and this site on the island's southwest side — known variously as the Marine Sanctuary, Rico's Wall, or Turtle Point — is where that protection shows most clearly. A coral garden plateau runs 7 to 12m before a wall drops away to around 35m. Coral cover is dense and healthy, and turtles are practically guaranteed.
It's also one of the better spots on the island to see reef sharks, alongside the steady traffic of reef fish a well-protected reef supports. The shallow plateau makes it a strong choice for newer divers and Discover Scuba experiences, with the option to follow the wall deeper for more experienced divers.
